COTW approves incentive package for Crusty Pig restaurant development

The Hopkinsville City Council Committee of the Whole Thursday night forwarded on an incentive package to help with development of the Crusty Pig—a new restaurant coming to 202 East Seventh Street.

It will be where the historic Hotel Latham once stood and Holly Boggess with Downtown Renaissance says the investment of at least $425,000 will create approximately 12 jobs and it will entail a transformation of that property.

Hal McCoy is the developer and says the right people are in place to create and open the restaurant to make it successful.

McCoy also owns The Mixer building that was damaged by 90 mph winds March 31 and says while he hopes to see that property re-opened by Thanksgiving, he doesn’t have a timetable for when the Crusty Pig will open for business.

Committee of the Whole approved an incentive package that rebates 80 percent of increased property tax revenues for the next 15 years and half of all new payroll tax revenue derived from the business over the next 10 years back to McCoy to help offset some of his costs.
