(St. Louis, MO) — Tommy Edman came through in the clutch to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-4 ten-inning victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium. Edman knocked in the game-winning run with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. Nolan Gorman tied the game earlier in the frame with a run-scoring double. Lars Nootbaar added a home run in the victory, while Drew VerHagen earned his first win in relief. St. Louis has won two of three. The Cards are in fourth-place in the NL Central at 7-and-9, and they send Jack Flaherty to the mound against the Diamondbacks tonight.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds split their series with the Phillies after a 14-3 loss in Cincinnati. Philly scored nine times in the first inning as Luis Cessa gave up 11 runs on 14 hits over three innings. Jonathan India drove in a run for Cincy, which fell to 6-and-9. The Reds are still last in the NL Central. The team starts a three-series at home against the Rays tonight. Hunter Greene gets the nod while Jalen Beeks takes the mound for Tampa.

(Undated) — The Redbirds won their series finale while the Sounds dropped theirs yesterday. Memphis scored six times in the seventh inning to beat Gwinnett 7-4. The Redbirds swept the Stripers and improved to 10-and-5. Meanwhile, Nashville gave up five runs in the seventh inning and lost to Norfolk 7-1. The Sounds split the series and are now 8-and-7 on the season. The Bats were rained out in their series finale with Toledo and dropped four-of-five against the Hens. Louisville is 3-and-11. All three teams return to action tomorrow with Memphis hosting Indianapolis, Nashville heading to Jacksonville and Louisville playing host to Charlotte.
