Small child injured in Broad Street accident

A vehicle versus pedestrian accident Thursday night on Broad Street injured a small child.

The collision report from Hopkinsville police says 46-year old Joseph Walker of Hopkinsville was northbound at 10 to 15 mph on Broad when he heard a banging sound on the passenger side of his SUV and he immediately stopped.

Police say a five-year old boy had walked out of his driveway and was struck by the vehicle.

The child’s mother took him by private vehicle to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for what are described as minor injuries.
