(Las Vegas, NV) — North Texas clinched the first NIT championship title in school history with a 68-61 win over UAB at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The Mean Green led by 10 points at halftime and fended off a late comeback attempt by the Blazers in the historic victory for the program. Kai Huntsberry scored a team-high 21 points while Tylor Perry contributed 20 for the Mean Green. UNT finishes the season with a 31-and-7 record. Jordan Walker paced UAB with 21 points in the losing effort. The Blazers cap off the year at 29-and-10.
>NCAA Women’s Final Four Preview
(Dallas, TX) — The top college women’s basketball teams in the country will take the court at the American Airlines Center in Dallas today for the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. Elizabeth Kitley and top-seeded Virginia Tech will start the day off against Angel Reese and third-seeded LSU. The Hokies are 31-and-4 this season and making their first-ever appearance in the Final Four. Second-year head coach Kim Mulkey has led LSU to its’ first Final Four appearance since 2008. In the second semifinal matchup, Dawn Staley will lead her undefeated defending champion South Carolina squad up against superstar guard Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Gamecocks are 36-and-oh this season and aiming for the first undefeated season since UConn in 2016. The winners of both games will matchup in the national championship game on Sunday afternoon.

(Houston, TX) — Four schools will battle in Houston tomorrow for their chance to hoist the national championship trophy. Fifth-seeded San Diego State tips off against ninth-seeded Florida Atlantic in the afternoon. Both programs are appearing in their first Final Four in school history. The Aztecs advanced following a close win over six-seed Creighton while the Owls upset third-seeded Kansas State. Fourth-seeded UConn will square off against fifth-seeded Miami in the night game. The Huskies edged three-seed Gonzaga to move on in the NCAA tournament while Miami upset second-seeded Texas. The Hurricanes are also making their first Final Four appearance while Connecticut has made six. The winners will stay in Houston to play in the national championship game on Monday.
