A partnership between multiple agencies will hold a Hams for Heroes event on April 6 at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel to honor active-duty service members and Gold Star families.
Representatives from local government, the Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel will be on hand at the location in Oak Grove to hand out over 500 hams to those who actively serving in the military. Chamber President and CEO Taylor Hayes says it’s all about thanking those service members and their families for the impact they make in the community and the world.
He says they’re teaming up with multiple agencies to see this happen, along with our neighbors in Trigg County.
Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight says it will likely be a drive-through style event starting at 10 a.m. April 6 and going until they run out of hams.
More details will be shared as the event draws closer—to stay up to date on the information, follow the Christian County Military Affairs Committee on Facebook.
