Warrant served for strangulation, assault charges

An arrest warrant for strangulation and assault charges has been served against a Hopkinsville man.

It alleges that on March 19, 30-year old Traivaun Buckner of Hopkinsville pushed a woman, threw her to the ground and choked her during an altercation over a phone at a Greenville Road residence.

Buckner is also accused of threatening to shoot up the victim’s home following the assault.

Police say the woman had marks and bruising on her throat and bruising on the inside of her right arm.

Buckner is charged with first-degree strangulation, assault in the fourth degree and third-degree terroristic threatening.
