(Undated)  —  Vanderbilt lost to UAB 67-59 in the NIT tournament quarterfinals in Nashville.   Cincinnati lost to Utah Valley 74-68 in the NIT quarterfinals in Orem. Meanwhile, the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament tips off tonight.  Number-4 Tennessee will play ninth-seeded Florida Atlantic in the East Region at Madison Square Garden.

(Undated)  —  The NCAA Tournament resumes today with Sweet 16 action.  The day kicks off with seventh-seeded Michigan State and third-seeded Kansas State clashing in the East Region at Madison Square Garden.  Also taking the court in the East Region are fourth-seeded Tennessee and ninth-seeded Florida Atlantic.  In the West Region, fourth-seeded UConn and eighth-seeded Arkansas battle for a spot in the Elite Eight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.  The day concludes with a meeting between second-seeded UCLA and third-seeded Gonzaga.  The Bruins are the highest remaining seed in the West Region.

(Chapel Hill, NC)  —  North Carolina won’t need to replace its star big man next season.  Armando Bacot has announced that he will be returning for a fifth season with the Tar Heels.  The Wooden Award finalist averaged 15.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this past season.
