>>Tennessee Football Announces 2024 Matchup

(Knoxville, TN)  —  Tennessee football is announcing its 2024 non-conference matchup.  The Volunteers will square off against North Carolina State in next season’s opener.  The sides will battle in Charlotte for the Duke’s Mayo Classic.  Tennessee was scrambling to find a game on short notice following the SEC’s recommendation to remove Oklahoma from the school’s 2024 schedule.

>>Japan Beats USA To Win World Baseball Classic

(Miami, FL)  —  Japan has claimed its first World Baseball Classic title since 2009.  Japan defeated the United States 3-2 at LoanDepot Park in Miami on Tuesday night for its third WBC title in the fifth-ever Classic.  Shohei Ohtani struck out Mike Trout in the final at-bat to secure the win and earn the save.

>Predators Crush Sabres After Huge Second Period

(Buffalo, NY)  —  The Predators erupted in the second period and beat the Sabres 7-3 in Buffalo.  The Predators will head back home to play the Kraken tomorrow night.

 

>Morant Continues Stress Management

(Memphis, TN)  —  The Grizzlies’ star point guard says he’s still working on stress management following his suspension.  Ja Morant spoke to the media after yesterday’s practice and reiterated his counseling is an “ongoing process.”  He said, “I’ve been there for two weeks, but that doesn’t mean I’m completely better.”  The guard spent time at a facility in Florida following his eight-game suspension for brandishing a handgun over an Instagram Live video earlier this month.  The All-Star guard is expected to make his return in tonight’s home game against the Rockets.

 

>>NBA Legend Willis Reed Dead At 80

(New York, NY)  —  NBA legend Willis Reed is dead at the age of 80.  The New York Knicks mourned his passing in a post on Twitter.  The team said Reed stood for many things including leadership and work ethic.  Reed won a championship with the Knicks in 1970 and a second one in 1973.  In both title runs, Reed was named NBA Finals MVP and he’s best known for playing while injured in the 1970 NBA Finals.  He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and won league MVP in 1970.  Reed would go on to serve as head coach for the Knicks, Creighton University and the New Jersey Nets.

 

>>Titans Go Defense In Latest Mock Draft

(Nashville, TN)  —  A new mock draft is out, and the Titans are expected to go defense with their first pick.  ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has the team selecting Tyree Wilson at number-11 overall.  The edge rusher had 14 sacks over the past two seasons at Texas Tech.  Kiper says the free agent additions of Andre Dillard and Daniel Brunskill makes offensive line less of a need at the draft.  Round one begins on April 27th.

 

>>Bengals Go Tight End In Latest Mock Draft

(Cincinnati, OH)  —  The Bengals are expected to draft a tight end with their first pick in April’s draft.  ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has the team selecting Darnell Washington in his latest mock draft.  Kiper says the Georgia pass catcher might have the highest ceiling out of his position group.  He also mentions Hayden Hurst leaving in free agency makes tight end a clear area of need.  The Bengals pick 28th in the draft.
