Second suspect probated in West First St. shooting case

Both suspects who had been charged in connection with a July shooting incident at West First and South Elm Street in Hopkinsville have both had their sentences probated.

Toddarious Polk appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday for sentencing after accepting a plea deal that came with a four-year sentence and attorney Olivia Adams noted his good conduct and positive scores on his pre-sentencing investigation report.

Judge John Atkins agreed to probate his four-year sentence, but warned him against any future misconduct that could land him in prison.

The Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Polk and Michael Croney for attempted assault and wanton endangerment on July 7. Police said multiple shots were fired toward a moving and occupied vehicle during an altercation that morning, with the victim able to drive away uninjured to call police.

Croney also accepted a plea deal and had his three-year sentence probated during a hearing in January.
