Clock winding down on 2023 General Assembly session

The clock is winding down on the 2023 session of the Kentucky General Assembly, but there’s still ample time for legislation to be passed.

Representative Walker Thomas says a bill banning gray machines in Kentucky passed the house last week and he did vote in favor of the measure, as he is against expanding gambling of any type. He says it had been tabled previously just to allow for more discussion on the matter, but now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Representative Myron Dossett hopes to see House Bill 249 receive support in the Senate after it passed the House Friday as it would increase the penalty for those found guilty in the murder of a child to a either a life sentence or the death penalty.

Senate Bill 115 banning drag shows in public places passed the Senate Friday with the support of Senator Whitney Westerfield and it now heads to the House.
