HCA Honors Seniors, State Champs, and More at Annual Banquet

Thursday night at the Northwest Baptist Church, HCA held their annual basketball banquet to honor the teams and cheerleaders.

This night though, was a little extra special.

They honored a boys senior class that brought home a KCAA state title…

As well as a senior, individually, who reset the school scoring record for a career in Carlos Robles (far right).

They also honored three girls basketball seniors who, though their season did not go as well as hoped, laid the foundation for a program that promises to develop at a rapid rate going forward.

We of course cannot forget the two, that’s right only two, senior cheerleaders who also helped create a culture of inclusion and learning that will only bolster stronger support for their teams going forward.

It was a beautiful night in the gym at the church for the banquet.

So many gathered together to celebrate these amazing teams and their accomplishments as well as the coaches, parents, school staff. friends, media members, and many more who helped to contribute to the over all success and great times that were shared by all this season.

We even saw a birthday celebrated, as if the kids would forget a coaches birthday, simply because the night was supposedly about them.

It was a night as well to look forward. Discuss and promote excitement for all the talent returning, all the talent upcoming, and the copious renovations being done to enhance the overall experience for anyone attending or aiding in a Warrior basketball game next season.

I caught up with Boys Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director Matt McGowan to discuss the state title win, his senior, his returners, the renovations, and more.

As for the event itself, here are a few more pictures…
