(Undated)  — Number-19 Tennessee is advancing in the SEC Tournament after a 70-55 win over Ole Miss.  The Vols will play Missouri this afternoon at 2 pm.  Vanderbilt cruised past LSU 77-68.  Kentucky will play the Commodores tonight at 8 pm, with Pre-Game Coverage beginning at 6 on Newsradio WHOP. Memphis also plays tonight in the AAC Tournament in Fort Worth.  The Tigers will square off against UCF.

WKU’s Season Ends Falling to (RV) Florida Atlantic

WKU Hilltopper Basketball’s season ended with a 75-51 defeat from top-seeded Florida Atlantic in the Conference USA Championship Quarterfinals on Thursday night. Overall, WKU shot 27.3% from the field and 20.7% from long range. Dayvion McKnight paced WKU with 18 points and five steals. Dontaie Allen had eight boards and 11 points while Jordan Rawls scored 12. Florida Atlantic had three players in double-figure scoring, led by Johnell Davis with 14.

Lady Toppers Advance in C-USA Championship with Win against UAB; Take on UTSA in C-USA Semifinals on Friday

WKU women’s basketball advanced to the semifinals of the Conference USA Championship with a 71-67 win against UAB on Thursday afternoon in Frisco, Texas. The game featured 16 lead changes and seven ties, but WKU led for 33:50 of the game. WKU improves to 18-12 on the season and have won four straight games. Jaylin Foster and Acacia Hayes each finished with 14 points, Alexis Mead had 13 and Aaliyah added 10 points. Foster led the team on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds while Mya Meredith had five. Hayes earned the most assists with four and Meredith and Mead each notched four steals. The Lady Toppers have had 11 games decided by five points or less this season and are now 9-2 in those games. They now will take on No. 6 UTSA on Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. in the Semifinals.

Racers Roll Past Evansville in MVC Tournament Opener; Take On Illinois State In MVC Quarterfinals

The Murray State women’s basketball team cruised by Evansville, 88-46, Thursday in the opening round of the Hoops In The Heartland 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship at the Vibrant Arena at the MARK in Moline, Illinois. Briley Pena led four Racers in double-figures in the game with a career-high 21 points, while Katelyn Young and Hannah McKay followed with 18 and 14, respectively. Alexis Burpo rounded out Murray State’s double-digit scorers with 12. Young nearly notched a double-double Thursday, leading her team on the boards with nine. Bria-Sanders Woods added six to the cause, while Hannah McKay chipped in with five. Now they will take on top-seeded Illinois State Friday in the quarterfinals at 12 p.m.
