Proceedings continued to April for 2006 murder suspect

A pretrial hearing to discuss a possible bond reduction was set in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday for 2006 murder suspect Annastaja Hathaway.

Hathway is represented by defense attorney Brandi Jones, who made a request to Judge Andrew Self that her bond be reduced from $100,000 to $60,000, to allow her family a better chance to post bond for her release if it was set at ten percent cash bond.

In an effort to allow more time for Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen to consider her stance on bond, or to see if the Attorney General’s Office will be presiding over the case, Judge Andrew Self continued proceedings to April 19.

Bolen also informed the court she intends to fulfill the order to produce communications as soon as this weekend, as she works her way through information and correspondence.

Hathaway and Lashanda Person are both charged with murder and first-degree robbery in the 2006 death of Roscoe Mayes at a home on Greenville Road.
