Proceedings were continued in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning as lawyers continue to discuss a possible resolution in the murder case against Tavaris Quarles.
Quarles is accused in the fatal shooting death of Christopher Montrell Mumford and his defense attorney, Sands Chewning, informed the court they’ve been unable to come an agreement on a plea agreement so far, but he would like more time to speak with the new Commonwealth’s Attorney, Stephanie Bolen.
Judge John Atkins agreed to continue proceedings to March 15.
Quarles is alleged to have shot Mumford when he went to a home in the 800 block of East Fourth Street and knocked on the door. Quarles reportedly shot Mumford after opening the door and then fled the scene.
