The Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department has chosen Rachel Sanders as the new Marketing and Events Coordinator.
According to a news release, Sanders started in her position this week and her role will focus on marketing for the Sportsplex and department events, sponsorship development and social media management. First on the list of her priorities will be assisting in the preparations for the upcoming International Festival.
Sanders is a Hopkinsville native who graduated Heritage Christian Academy and received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Asbury University. She worked in government contracting before relocating back to the area in 2020 where she worked as a marketing freelancer.
Sanders says, “I am looking forward to reconnecting to the Hopkinsville community and supporting the efforts of the outstanding Parks and Recreation team. This industry has been a passion of mine for years and I am delighted with the opportunity to use my experience to further develop the existing programs.”
