It was a short agenda at the meeting of the Christian County School Board Thursday evening, as members heard the nurses’ report and approved some construction at Pembroke Elementary.
The wall panels officials are looking to have installed at Pembroke Elementary would be like the ones installed at South Christian Elementary last year—designed to help keep rain water from entering in through walls. Director of Finance Jessica Darnell says it would cost roughly $65,000 to do and they would use funds originally designated for tornado recovery.
The BG-1 request was approved unanimously by the board.
In the second nine weeks report from Head Nurse Megan Kidd, she says district nurses are responsible for administering numerous medications for numerous conditions, conducting vision and health screenings and much more.
During the second nine weeks of school, district nurses had 16,648 office visits from students, bringing the total number of office visits for the school year so far up to 33,203. The school with the least number of visits in the second nine weeks was Hopkinsville High School at 620, while the school with the most visits at 1,942 was Crofton Elementary School.
