Road conditions continue to improve

Road conditions are improving in Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee, but motorists should still be prepared to use caution if they’re traveling today.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Miller says main roads such as I-24, the Pennyrile Parkway and US 68 are mostly clear, but many secondary roads and side streets are still slick or slick in spots.

He says the sunshine was helping the efforts of state, county and city road crews to improve road conditions.

The most important thing to remember is to slow down if you’re driving and to be on the lookout for ice ahead, even if the roadway you’re driving on is clear.

Whatever melts today may re-freeze tonight, when low temperatures will fall into the mid-20’s. There’s also another slight chance for additional mixed precipitation overnight, though amounts would be light.
