The Christian County School Board approved an item that would allow for the Local Planning Committee to reconvene, and approved the parent handbook for the Inspire Early Learning Academy.
The Local Planning Committee is responsible for the creation, and possible amendment, of the District Facilities Plan—Assistant Superintendent Josh Hunt told the board Thursday they can be called back into session for numerous reasons, including their goal to move sixth grade back to the middle schools.
He explained that once they approve the request to reconvene the committee, that request then heads to the Kentucky Department of Education for approval and from there, they will advertise when meetings will be held.
The board approved the request unanimously. In other action, the board approved the Inspire Early Learning Academy parent handbook, with Assistant Superintendent Jessica Addison saying it sets the price at $150 per week for childcare services, along with guidelines that parents will need to follow.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel presented the draft budget, saying they’re not currently expecting any big changes to their SEEK funding in the coming fiscal year. The draft budget is very tentative and is likely to change as the budget making process continues, with two more versions of the budget set to come before the board in May and September.
