The Christian County Judge-Executive’s Office is moving from Weber Street to the old Christian County Sheriff’s Office headquarters just east of the Little River bridge on West Seventh Street.
Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says putting the judge’s office in the same building with the treasurer’s office, emergency management and solid waste makes sense and the county already owns the building.
He says the county will help the drug court find a new home as part of the process, as they currently operate out of the old sheriff’s office building.
The judge hopes the new building will make county government more efficient and accessible to the public.
He’s also hopeful the move will free up more parking for the clerk’s office in the lot behind the courthouse.
