Attorney General Daniel Cameron has formally filed to run for governor.
Cameron filed the paperwork Tuesday morning at the Secretary of State’s office at the Capitol.
He is among several Republicans who are running to challenge Democratic Governor Andy Beshear this year. Also in the GOP field is Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles, Auditor Mike Harmon and former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft.
Cameron and Beshear have butted heads repeatedly during the administration, especially over executive powers and abortion.
Former President Trump has endorsed Cameron in the governor’s race, and Cameron says he supports Trump in his bid for another term in the White House.
