(Undated)  — Memphis is in action today as the college football bowl season continues.  The Tigers take on Utah State in the First Responder Bowl in Dallas this afternoon.  Both teams finished the season 6-and-6.  Meanwhile, Number-6 Tennessee and sixth-ranked Clemson square off in the Orange Bowl at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Friday.  The Vols finished the year 10-and-2 while the Tigers went 11-and-2.  Kentucky clashes with Iowa in the Music City Bowl in Nashville on Saturday.  The Wildcats and Hawkeyes ended the season with 7-and-5 records.

Brohm Tabs Barclay to Coach Running Backs

Chris Barclay as the newest member of his coaching staff. Barclay, who comes with Brohm from Purdue, will coach the Louisville running backs. Barclay is a Louisville native and graduate of Male High School. He spent the last seven seasons working with Brohm, six at Purdue and one at Western Kentucky. Purdue’s running backs combined to rush for more than 1,500 yards this season led by redshirt-freshman Devin Mockobee, who heads into Purdue’s bowl game with 920 yards. Barclay’s running backs also eclipsed 1,000 yards in 2017, 2018 and 2021. In the six-game 2020 campaign, running back Zander Horvath accumulated 746 all-purpose yards and earned third team All-Big Ten honors.

Brohm Adds Groves-Killebrew to Signing Class

Defensive back Marquis Groves–Killebrew signed with UofL Friday. A transfer from Texas A&M, Groves-Killebrew played one season for the Aggies before coming to Louisville. Playing at North Cobb High, Groves-Killebrew was a four-star recruit according to all three major outlets and was selected to participate in the 2022 All-American Bowl. As a senior, Groves-Killebrew posted 38 tackles and a pair of interceptions, leading North Cobb to a 10-2 record, including a 5-0 mark in the 7A Region. Groves-Killebrew is the 19th signee in the 2023 UofL National Signing Day class.
