For families across Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, Christmas is coming early, thanks to the efforts of the Back-2-Back Foundation, as they delivered presents Thursday morning.
They’re among Santa’s helpers this week, delivering presents to families in need just in time for Christmas, and song writer and country music artist Brice Long says all money is raised during his Back-2-Back Foundation fundraiser concert held each summer. He says those families get help with having a great Christmas, and seeing the smile on their faces is what Christmas is all about.
Brent Gilkey says while they shopped for about 50 families this year, another about 50 were provided for by the Back-2-Back Foundation donating money to Grace and Mercy and Redeemed and Restored.
This initiative is in its 18th year and Long says it only continues to grow, allowing them to buy for more families than ever, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of the community and other artists.
Families in need are selected by personnel at local schools who come in contact with individuals in need of a little help at Christmas. Long says they’re already in the planning stages for his next Back-2-Back Foundation concert set to take place at the Alhambra Theatre in July.
