Kentucky vs. Florida A&M

Although Wednesday’s game between Kentucky and Florida A&M at Rupp Arena will headline the Unity Series, this week’s meeting was about far more than just basketball. The 7 p.m. game will be the second in five consecutive seasons of matchups between UK and institutions from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, which is made up of historically black colleges and universities. The games will seek to raise awareness of the missions of the HBCUs and to raise funds to provide opportunities for students at their institutions. Pre-game at 4:30 on 98.7 Lite FM

Kentucky, Ohio Square Off for Final Nonconference Game

The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to Ohio on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. ET inside Memorial Coliseum. The game, which is the team’s final nonconference contest of the season, will be broadcast on SEC Network+, with Jeff Piecoro and Christi Thomas on the call. The game is tabbed as Family Day, with kid-friendly activities on the concourse for children on break. Doors to Memorial Coliseum will open one hour prior to the tip time.

Cardinals Travel for Road Test Against DePaul

The Louisville women’s basketball team is set for its final test before the Christmas break. The Cardinals (9-4, 1-0) are in Chicago to take on former Conference USA and Big East foe DePaul (9-3, 2-0) on Wednesday, Dec. 21. The Cards and Blue Demons will square off from Wintrust Arena at 8:30 p.m. ET and the matchup will be aired nationally on Fox Sports 1. Louisville is wrapping up a season-long four-game road trip and have a four-game winning streak heading into the game. The Cards are 4-1 this season on the road and one of the best teams in the country away from home. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Louisville is 56-8 (.875) in road games. The winning percentage ranks second and the wins are third in the NCAA over that time. Last season, Louisville was 10-2 in road games.

Cardinals Fall to Lipscomb in Home Non-Conference Finale

Louisville men’s basketball struggled on the backboards Tuesday and couldn’t slow down Lipscomb’s methodical offensive approach, falling 75-67 at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals (2-10) were outrebounded 40-26 and outscored 40-30 in the paint, including several layups by Lipscomb (8-5) on backdoor cuts. That negated a season-low 10 turnovers for Louisville, as well as a strong 17-for-21 showing from the Cardinals at the free-throw line.

Racers Top Bellarmine In Non-Conference Finale

The Murray State women’s basketball team closed out the non-conference portion of its 2022-23 schedule with a 74-59 win over Bellarmine Tuesday night at Historic Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Three players reach double-digits in rout of Knights Hannah McKay came off the bench to lead the Racers Tuesday with 19 points, while Katelyn Young followed with 17 and Jordyn Hughes added 12. McKay finished the game shooting 8-for-12 from the floor, while Young was equally as impressive at 7-for-11.

Lady Toppers Close Out Non-Conference with California Baptist

WKU women’s basketball will wrap up non-conference play on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at California Baptist in the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Govs host Bulldogs in nonconference finale

Coming off its largest comeback since at least 1996, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team returns to Clarksville for its nonconference finale in a 2 p.m., Wednesday game against UNC Asheville in the Winfield Dunn Center. Admission to the game is free. Wednesday’s contest also is Youth Sports Day in the Dunn.
