Indictments returned for assault, rape, abuse

An indictment for assault in the first-degree and three counts of wanton endangerment was returned by a Christian County Grand Jury against the Fort Campbell man charged in connection with a collision on I-24 in August.

Twenty-seven-year-old Nickolas Lack of Fort Campbell was also indicted for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and first-degree criminal mischief, after he allegedly drove into a construction zone near the 86-mile marker of I-24 in August and struck a pickup parked in the emergency lane that was being used to clean up as road workers were about to leave. The collision ejected 53-year-old John Bright of Benton from the back of the pickup and Lack had to be extricated from his car.

Both were taken to Nashville hospitals for treatment. Lack reportedly caused over $1,000 worth of damages to property belonging to Jim Smith Contracting.

Indicted for first-degree rape is 47-year-old Luis Alberto Salva of Oak Grove—he is accused of forcing sexual intercourse on a female victim between July of 2021 and July of 2022.

The grand jury also indicted 32-year-old Christopher Aldridge of Hopkinsville on two counts of first-degree child abuse against children under 12 years old and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.  He allegedly abused two children, placing them in a situation that could cause physical injury.
