Santa will take time out of his planning for the big night Sunday to travel the neighborhoods of Hopkinsville via fire truck.
Using the magic that only Santa has, he’ll see every neighborhood in two-to-three hours, beginning at 1 o’clock.
Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says “This special holiday Santa tour through Hoptown is a tremendous way for families to greet and wave to Saint Nick as he moves through main streets throughout the city this Sunday. Huge thanks to our fire and police department partners for the escort for Santa and to the library and school system for donating books. We hope this special Santa trip continues to bring smiles throughout the community.”
Santa’s tour can be tracked live on GPS that will be displayed at hoptownrec.com. The GPS tracking and turn-by-turn listings will allow kids young and old to track Santa in a timely manner as he moves through his route, though it will be on a three-to-five-minute delay.
And, while supplies last a limited number of kids books will be handed out by HPD personnel, courtesy of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Library’s Imagination Library program and the Christian County Public Schools School Readiness program.
Due to safety reasons to keep Santa from any injuries this close to Christmas, he will be riding on the passenger side in the front seat of the cab.
