East 18th St. arson case could go to trial

A trial date could soon be set for the man accused of setting fire to an East 18th Street home in September of last year, as a negotiated resolution has yet to be accomplished.

Fifty-two-year-old Anthony Taylor again refused to be brought over from the jail to Christian Circuit Court Thursday morning, with public defender Eric Bearden asking for a few more days to visit with Taylor and go over his options.

Taylor is charged with first-degree arson.  No one was injured in the fire that caused about $40,000 in damages to the 812 East 18th Street home on September 1.
