A man sought for on a murder charge out of Ohio was arrested Sunday night in Logan County.
A news release says Logan County sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Russellville Police Department were dispatched to be on the lookout for 29-year old Cornelius Brogan of Dayton, Ohio, who was wanted for murder in Ohio.
His vehicle was spotted at the Bluegrass Meadows in Russellville and police made contact with Brogan.
Police say he ignored commands and when a deputy unsuccessfully attempted to deploy a taser, Brogan rushed the deputy and grabbed his patrol rifle in an attempt to take it away.
Officers were able to gain control of Brogan at that time and took him into custody without further incident.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail and is facing local charges of third-degree assault of an officer, attempted disarming of a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, with the murder charge and other counts pending in Ohio.
