The Christian County grand jury recently re-indicted a man for manslaughter and drug trafficking charges in connection with a 2021 fatal drug overdose.
Twenty-one-year-old Seth Henderson of Hopkinsville was indicted for second-degree manslaughter and trafficking in fentanyl.
Henderson’s co-defendant, Joshua Long, entered a guilty plea in February to an amended charge of possession of a controlled substance as part of a plea deal that required him to testify against Henderson, should he go to trial.
Long and Henderson were accused of selling narcotics to 23-year old Corbin Bowling of Crofton, who would die of a drug overdose in early 2021.
The charges against Henderson were dismissed in May after attorney Olivia Adams successfully argued to Judge Andrew Self that Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling knowingly or intentionally presented false or misleading testimony to the grand jury regarding text messages in the case. There was testimony in the original grand jury proceedings about a text message exchange that all parties later acknowledged Henderson was not a party to and that incorrect dates were given.
Logan County Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Nate Beard was the special prosecutor who presented evidence that led to the most recent indictment.
Henderson turned himself in at the Christian County Jail Saturday and he’s lodged on a $20,000 cash bond.
