(New York, NY) — Major League Baseball is releasing the ballot for next year’s Hall of Fame class. Notable names up for election include Carlos Beltran, Francisco Rodriguez, Huston [[ houston ]] Street and Jered Weaver. Another high profile candidate is Alex Rodriguez, who’s in his second year of eligibility. Former Cubs starting pitcher John Lackey earned his first nomination. Lackey spent two seasons with the Cubs and helped them end their century-long World Series drought in 2016. All voters have a deadline of December 31st to submit their ballots. The results will be announced in January. The St. Louis Cardinals are well-represented. Four former players appeared on the final ballot, including first-year nominees Carlos Beltran, Jhonny Peralta, and John Lackey. The trio join former third baseman Scott Rolen, who is on the ballot for the sixth time after earning over 63-percent of the vote last year. Rolen was with the team from 2002 until 2007, Peralta was on the Cardinals between 2014 and 2017, and Beltran and Lackey each spent two seasons with the club.
