Voting continues in general election

Turnout is looking good across the area so far and voting is going smooth as polls remain open until 6 p.m. for the General Election.

Christian County Clerk Mike Kem reported some lines when polls opened at 6 a.m., but says the waits haven’t been long and there haven’t been any major issues.

Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley says they’ve been busy.

She’s hoping for a 35 percent voter turnout, driven by several local and state races and the two constitutional amendments.

In Trigg County there are seven voting centers—Cerulean Fire Department, East Golden Pond Fire Department, the EOC, South Road Fire Department, Trigg County Recreation Complex, Trigg-Lyon Fire Department and The Way.

The Attorney General’s Office Election Fraud Hotline received two complaints of possible electioneering during the absentee and early voting periods in Christian County and fielded one legal question. As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the hotline had received an Election Day complaint of possible electioneering and one procedural question in Christian County.
