Public library Fall Festival is Friday, pumpkin carving contest underway

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Fall Festival is coming up Friday and there’s still time to take part in the Imagination Library pumpkin carving contest.

Appearing on WHOP Tuesday morning, Library Executive Director DeAnna Sova says the fall festival will take place rain or shine at the library starting at 4:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend and play games and encourage early literacy.

The Imagination Library is also hosting a pumpkin carving contest, with the judging to take place at the fall festival, with prizes up for grabs—kits and registration to take place in the contest are still available.

The event is free to attend and will include crafts, games, bouncers and a costume contest. Sova says they will then have something for an older crowd on November 5 with a murder mystery event called “Murder at The Library”, where guests will work together to solve a fake murder with clues that are provided throughout the course of the evening, with a prize given to the guests that solve the crime.

Space for the event is limited and a registration fee of $25 per attendee is required. Register for the event by going online to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library website.
