(Knoxville, TN) — Tennessee is climbing the latest Coaches Poll rankings after their 65-24 rout of Tennessee-Martin over the weekend. The Vols moved up a spot and are now the third-ranked team in the nation at 7-and-0. Elsewhere, Louisville improved to 4-and-3 after beating Pitt 24-10 while Memphis dropped to 4-and-4 following their 38-28 loss to Tulane. The Commodores are now 3-and-5 as they lost to Missouri. Kentucky was off but moved up to number-17 in the poll. They’ll play Tennessee this weekend.

On Saturday despite 13 kills from Reagan Rutherford, the No. 12 Kentucky Volleyball team was swept for the first time in Southeastern Conference play since 2017 on Saturday afternoon, suffering a 3-0 loss (25-23, 27-25, 25-20) to Texas A&M inside Reed Arena. While on Sunday The No. 16 Kentucky Volleyball team was down two starters, but battled to knock off Texas A&M in College Station 3-1 (19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24) as Emma Grome dished out 44 assists and Elise Goetzinger had 11 kills and two blocks in the match.
Kentucky Topped by Georgia, 3-0, in Home Finale
Kentucky women’s soccer (7-8-1, 0-7-2 SEC) was downed, 3-0, by the Georgia Bulldogs (11-5-1, 5-3-2 SEC) in the team’s home finale on Sunday afternoon at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. More than 600 fans were in the stands on a beautiful fall afternoon in Lexington to watch the Wildcats in their final home tilt of the year.
Kentucky Earns First Victory at Indiana Since 1995
The No. 2 Kentucky men’s soccer team (9-0-5, 3-0-3 Sun Belt) made history with the first win of the Johan Cedergren era at Indiana (7-2-4, 3-1-3 Big Ten) and first win on Hoosier turf since 1995. The Wildcats were victorious at Bill Armstrong Stadium with a 3-0 final score. Kentucky’s victory turned the tables as the last matchup between the two programs resulted in a 0-3 UK loss in Bloomington in the 2019 NCAA tournament. The longtime rivals now hold a 3-20-4 all-time series record with the two previous wins taking place in 1995 and 2018.

PITTSBURGH — Outside hitter Claire Chaussee’s 17 kills were not enough as the No. 2-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team fell 3-2 to No. 8 Pitt Sunday afternoon in Fitzgerald Fieldhouse. The loss snaps Louisville’s streak of ACC wins at 37 dating back to a loss to Pitt on Oct. 23, 2020.
