Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke has been presented with a 2022 Friend of Kentucky Cities Award from the Kentucky League of Cities.
According to a news release, the designation comes after Representative Dossett carried Senate Bill 124 in the 2022 session, which helps local officials protect streets and bridges from overweight vehicle damage.
KLC Executive Director and CEO James D. Chaney thanked Representative Dossett for his advocacy. “We appreciate his willingness to carry such a key measure. Infrastructure is an important topic for cities and the people who live and work in our communities. The language added to Senate Bill 124 helps cities better regulate overweight vehicles that can cause extensive damage, cost taxpayer dollars, and put drivers at risk.”
Dossett says, “I am proud to stand with our local governments and support these critical investments that support Kentucky communities. When all levels of government put politics aside and work together, we truly can help improve the quality of life throughout our commonwealth.
