An arrest was made Friday night after a Hopkinsville man allegedly falsely claimed he had been kidnapped.
Hopkinsville police received a call a little before 5 pm from family members of 40-year old James Earl Evans after he allegedly sent messages on Snapchat claiming to have been kidnapped and representing himself as the kidnappers.

The FBI and U.S. Secret Service became involved in the investigation and officers were notified to be on the lookout for Evans’ vehicle that he was found driving several hours later near Taco Bell on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
He was arrested and charged with filing a false report that generates an emergency response and driving on a DUI suspended license.
