Twenty-four hour access to Emergency Protective Orders for females in the community is temporarily on hold, as circumstances with those being able to provide that service has changed.
According to a news release from the Christian County Circuit Clerk’s Office, it has been determined that the Circuit Clerk’s Office is unable to provide those EPO services for petitioners outside of normal operating hour, as neither that office or the Christian County Justice Center is open 24 hours.
Effective Thursday, women looking to file a petition for domestic violence will only be able to do so during normal operating hours—8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday—at the Justice Center until further notice. Officials will to continue to work to reimplement the necessary 24/7 access in the future.
The Christian County Jail will continue to be the designated EPO filing location for male individuals after hours.
