Tuesday is deadline to register to vote in November election

The deadline to register to vote in the November General Election is only days away and there’s still a little time left to request a mail-in absentee ballot if you need to vote that way.

Christian County Clerk Mike Kem appeared on WHOP Wednesday morning and reminded that if you aren’t registered to vote in Kentucky, you must do so by Tuesday of next week and you can do it at govoteky.com.

You can go to that same website and use the voter portal to request a mail-in absentee ballot if you have a good reason you won’t be able to make it to a polling place on November 8.

The deadline to apply for that paper mail-in ballot is October 25.

There will also be in-house absentee voting at the Christian County Courthouse October 26-28 and Oct 31 through November 2 and you will also have to have an excuse to take advantage of that option. You won’t need an excuse to vote early November 3 through 5 at either the Bruce Convention Center or Christian County Senior Citizens Center.

There will be 16 voting centers open across the county on Election Day and any registered voter can vote at any of those locations.
