Trial postponed in 2021 rape case

Trial was delayed once again in the alleged rape case against Tony Snyder, as attorneys work to prepare fully for the proceedings.

Snyder is charged with first-degree rape for allegedly engaging in non-consensual sex with a female victim in the early morning hours of September 30 while she was deeply asleep or unconscious and unable to give consent due to drugs.

Judge Andrew Self took the time to remind Snyder, who is out on bond pending trial, that he is not to have contact with the victim whatsoever.

Snyder assured the judge he’s doing as he is supposed to, and Judge Self set another pretrial hearing for September 14, with the expectation of setting a new trial date at that time.

The case was also moved back to Judge John Atkins’ courtroom, where it will eventually go to trial.
