Todd Fiscal Court on Friday morning heard about the potential for a new industry to create jobs in the community and heard a report on an increase in thefts and burglaries in the county.
An incentive for the new industry was tabled Friday as Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield says he can’t say who the industry is until its finalized.
Judge Mansfield tells WHOP the industry is expected to create approximately 30 new jobs in Todd County and the announcement is anticipated to happen soon.
The court also had to postpone its approval of the property tax rate for this year, though Judge Mansfield says his recommendation will be to leave it the same as it’s been the last decade or so.
Todd County Sheriff Tracy White gave his monthly report, saying there’s been an uptick in burglaries of residences—especially at the homes of Amish and Mennonite families who are at church on Sundays.

Magistrates approved spending about $15,000 to purchase a 2010 Ford Expedition for the Todd County Coroner’s Office, which has been requesting a vehicle for several months.
