The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville is hosting an 8th of August Emancipation Celebration Sunday afternoon.
It will take place from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Pennyroyal Area Museum on East Ninth Street and feature live historical reenactments, oral history music, kids activities, local history, food trucks, educational content and celebration.
Families are encouraged to come out and learn more about emancipation while enjoying good food, music, and much more.
