Another suspect has been charged in connection with the recent armed home invasion at the Glass Avenue residence of Charles “Bird Dog” Paige.
Hopkinsville police charged 24-year old Michael Sims of Hopkinsville with complicity to first-degree robbery, with an arrest citation saying he worked with seven other perpetrators in the course of committing the crime.
The suspects were armed with a shotgun and a rifle and gunfire between the perpetrators and Paige was exchanged, though no one was injured.
Sims appeared for arraignment Wednesday morning in Christian District Court, with Judge Lindsey Adams entering a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Sims is also facing an unrelated burglary charge and was recently served with warrants for failing to appear in court.
Other suspects charged in the home invasion include 24-year old Ajaizion Johnson, 19-year old Isaiah Campbell, 30-year old Marshall Austin, and 18-year old Korey Zivotin.
Zivotin appeared in circuit court for a hearing on whether to revoke his probation from a prior case, but it had to be continued while a new lawyer is being appointed for him due to conflicts in the local public defender’s office.
A detective recently testified that the suspects believed there was a stash of money on Paige’s property that they were after.
