The Western Kentucky State Fair opens this weekend and organizers are hoping for another very successful nine days.
Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. and the fun continues through July 2, with Tony Meacham of the Fair Board encouraging locals to log onto the Western Kentucky State Fair Website to find the complete schedule.
The first weekend looks to be hot with only minimal chances for rain Sunday and Meacham says the weather is always a big factor in how well-attended the fair is.
Just under 41,000 people walked through the gates of last year’s fair after the 2020 edition was canceled, representing the best attendance in at least the last 10 years.
