EDC works to address workforce, sustainability issues for local industries

The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council are often focused on drawing new industries to the region, but they also make sure to support existing industries with what they need to succeed.

Executive Director Carter Hendricks appeared on WHOP Friday morning and says they want to always support and celebrate the industries that already make their home in the region, and they often visit with officials there and speak on issues and what is needed to address those issues.

He says issues all industries face are workforce needs, sustainability and retention.

Hendricks says many local businesses are continuing to expand and grow their footprint, and the majority of their workforce are built up of individuals from across the region.
