Man arrested for allegedly leaving two small children home alone

A Hopkinsville man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly leaving two small children at home alone.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department was notified that two children were reportedly alone at a Dawn Drive home just after 1 a.m. and deputies were not able to make contact with anyone at the residence.

Someone soon arrived at the home and it was determined that two children—six and eight years old—had been left alone in the home.

Deputy Mark Nichols attempted to make contact with 33-year old Devon Morris of Hopkinsville by phone, but the arrest citation says he hung up and would not answer again after first contact.

Morris was eventually arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
