While parts of the midwest have been battered by severe weather this week, a major outbreak of severe storms or tornadoes isn’t expected when a cold front moves through western Kentucky and middle Tennessee Wednesday night.
Mike York with the National Weather Service in Paducah said during this week’s conference call that the Storm Prediction Center has the region under a marginal risk for severe weather Wednesday and while there could be watches and warnings at some point, he isn’t anticipating a major event.
After a cooldown this weekend, the long-range forecast is showing temperatures next week below average.
The month of May was a little warmer than average and near the average for precipitation in western Kentucky.
