Shooting incident leads to pursuit, arrest

A shooting incident at the Woodland Heights Apartments on Greenville Road Thursday night led to a vehicle pursuit and arrest.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the apartments for multiple people fighting and shots fired.

Police say 36-year old Dellondo Ross of South Bend, Indiana had allegedly pointed a long gun at multiple people in the parking lot and at some point he was shot.

Ross then fled the scene in a vehicle and allegedly refused to pull over initially when deputies tried to make a traffic stop.

He eventually was stopped and was taken first to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was treated and released, and he was then jailed for fleeing or evading police and driving with a suspended license.

Deputy Chris Miller says investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Hopkinsville police assisted in bringing Ross into custody.
