University Heights defeated Hopkinsville 5-2 to take the number two seed for the upcoming 8th district tournament. The Lady Tigers led 1-0 after two innings and held the lead until the top of the fifth when the Lady Blazers plated three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Hopkinsville got one of the runs back in the bottom of the 5th before UHA scored twice in the 6th to secure the win.
The Lady Blazers had just three hits with winning pitcher Reagan Pollard having the lone extra base hit with a double. Kaitlyn Kaetzel went 2-3 for the Lady Tigers with Hannah Thorson taking the pitching loss despite 10 strikeouts. UHA is now 5-7 and concludes district play 2-1 while Hopkinsville is 5-14 and wraps up district play 1-2.

Christian County is on the road today as the Lady Colonels visit Crittenden County. Other games include Caldwell County going to McCracken County and Hopkins Central welcomes Dawson Springs in a doubleheader.
