Strong to severe storms possible most of the week

There will be storm and rain chances throughout the majority of this week as an active weather pattern moves into the area.

Derrick Snyder with the National Weather Service in Paducah says there’s a chance for strong to severe storms Monday evening, Tuesday evening and then again on Thursday, with the bulk of area under a marginal to slight risk Monday and Tuesday.

He says Thursday’s event is looking to have higher chances for severe weather to occur, with all the usual threats possible—heavy rain, hail, damaging winds and maybe a tornado.

Much can change between now and Thursday, so Snyder says to just stay weather aware as we head further into the week—and then things should start drying out Friday or Saturday, leaving a pretty spring weekend.

Some places could see up to an inch and half of rain between Monday and Friday, which could result in standing water in the usual low-lying and poor drainage areas.
