Local businesses and agencies honored, celebrated at Compass Awards

It was a return to celebration and recognition at the Silo Event Center Thursday evening, as the Christian County Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Compass Awards.

With things returning to normal across the nation in the wake of the pandemic, Chamber President Taylor Hayes says there are many things, places and people worth celebrating in this community.

A slew of awards were handed out to numerous businesses and agencies, including the Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville taking home the Century Award. President Terry Rudd says it’s all about serving the community and they look forward to another century.

The Food Service Award went to Four Seasons Catering with co-founder Jennifer Diaz saying the past two years have been tough, but they made it through thanks to determination and the support of the community.

The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville claimed the Friend of the Community Award, the Health and Wellness Award was presented to Pennyroyal Hospice, Inc., the Horizon Award went to the Local Irish Pub and Kitchen, Southern States took home the Industrial/Commercial Services Award and the Pennyroyal Arts Council claimed the Non-Profit Award.

Calvert Electric won the Residential Services Award, the Agri-Business Award went to Alan Watts, the Retail Award went to J. Schrecker Jewelry and Ash Brunson’s All Clean, Inc. took home the Specialized Service Award.

The Spirit of Entrepreneurism Award went to Kona Ice of Hopkinsville/Clarksville, the Sunset Award was handed to Hampton Meats and the Quality Service Award went to Jennie Stuart Health.
