Attorneys are still negotiating toward a potential plea deal in the case of the man charged in a shooting incident that injured two people on East 18th Street the day before Thanksgiving last year.
Attorney Olivia Adams represents 34-year old Demario White of Hopkinsville and asked Judge John Atkins Wednesday morning to further reduce his bond as she and Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling continue discussions.
Judge Atkins sided with the Commonwealth’s objection to any further bond modification at this time, but says he’ll listen if Adams returns with a proposal of what White’s family might be able to put up as bond.
White allegedly shot 28-year old Devaunte Hampton in the leg at 1200 East 18th and fired a shot that grazed a female, causing her only minor injuries.
