Rotary gives and receives on Night 1 of 72nd Auction

Night one of the 72nd WHOP Rotary Radio Auction is in the books and it featured giving from the community to Rotary and from the Rotary Foundation back to the community.

Auction Chair Andrew Wilson presented a check for $5,000 to Hopkinsville Men2Be as they begin a tutoring program and he says Rotary received four donations of $20,000 or more to the Hour Club.

Wilson says they could still use additional items for the auction and desserts for the sweet shop.

The first round of Big Board items will be sold tonight.

Ninety-one items sold on the first night and Hour Club donations totaled $134,953. Through one evening, the auction total was $143,822—almost $78,000 ahead of last years one-night total.

The auction begins each evening through Saturday at 6 p.m. on Lite Rock 98.7, lite987whop.com on the Hopkinsville Rotary Club website and Facebook page and on Spectrum Cable Channel 376.
